Washington, D.C., May 4, 2017 - US SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment today announced that Bryan McGannon has joined the organization as Director of Policy and Programs. In this role, Bryan will serve as US SIF's lead representative advancing the interests and perspective of the sustainable, responsible and impact investing (SRI) community with policymakers and other stakeholders.

Bryan comes to US SIF with over 20 years of policy and advocacy experience, most recently as Policy and Engagement Director for the American Sustainable Business Council, where he provided policy support for a wide range of issues related to sustainability in business and the economy.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bryan to US SIF and look forward to introducing him next week at our conference, A New Climate for Investing in Impact,” said Lisa Woll, US SIF CEO. “Bryan's deep expertise in mobilizing business leaders from across the country to engage members of Congress, the Administration and regulatory agencies on a broad range of environmental and social issues is invaluable, particularly at this pivotal time when so many key priorities for sustainable and impact investors are at risk. His organizing background will also be incredibly helpful in working with members to roll out programming that will further advance the field.”

US SIF has observed steadily increasing momentum around sustainable and impact investing in the United States. As reported in its 2016 biennial Trends Report, US-domiciled assets using SRI strategies grew to $8.72 trillion at the start of 2016, accounting for more than one out of every five dollars under professional management in the US. In his role as US SIF's Director of Policy and Programs, Bryan will seek to build on this momentum by working with policymakers and regulators to create an environment supportive of SRI investing.

“I am delighted to be joining the US SIF team,” added Bryan McGannon.  “On issues ranging from climate change and energy, diversity and inclusion, political contributions and corporate governance, US SIF is bringing a meaningful perspective to the national policy dialogue.  I look forward to deepening our engagement on Capitol Hill and to developing programming for US SIF members that will further advance their work in the field of sustainable and responsible investing.”

Prior to joining the American Sustainable Business Council in 2011, Bryan served as State Director in Ohio for the Alliance for Climate Protection's Repower America campaign, and was instrumental in former Vice President Al Gore's initiative to pass comprehensive climate and energy legislation. Bryan's political campaign experience spans presidential campaigns, congressional races, and local ballot initiatives.
